Safetran has led the Caltrans TEES market in the traffic signal controller industry since they began offering 170 controllers. However with today’s ever-changing components market, the 170 has slowly lost its appeal to more powerful controllers. Today, Safetran is proud to continue the tradition with the innovative features of the ASC/3-RM line of hybrid controllers. These controllers add power and functionality to existing intersections using Caltrans TEES cabinets, while providing an upgrade path to more flexible Safetran Hybrid cabinets. Along with controller hardware, Safetran offers the most innovative software for traffic signal controllers. The ASC/3-RM controller features and functionality meet or exceed the ever changing requirements needed to keep traffic moving efficiently while maintaining safety for drivers. The Safetran ASC/3-RM software also offers Transit Signal Priority and ACS-Lite optional modules. The ASC/3-RM software is the latest in a series of Advanced System Controller Software packages offered by Safetran. The software builds on the proven design flexibility and unique feature set of the popular 170 controller software and C1 harness, allowing it to work in any Caltrans specified cabinets, by using the configurable I/O mapping. It also offers a C11 connector for use in 2070 specified cabinets and a serial interface for use in the new Safetran Hybrid cabinet. The software offers the latest features and functionality available for today’s busy streets, enabling traffic engineers to increase efficiency at intersections, while protecting the safety of drivers and pedestrians alike. |

Safetran builds most Caltrans Specified cabinets, including the 2002 TEES ITS cabinets, and are well-built, allowing for easy access to all components and wiring. Safetran also builds empty enclosures for battery backup systems or ITS applications. Built in ISO 9001:2000 certified facilities, Safetran guarantees a finished work that is precisely constructed and expertly tested, meeting Caltrans strict requirements. In addition to the Caltrans parallel interface cabinets (C1/C11), Safetran now offers several serial interface cabinets, eliminating the need for the C1 and C11 connectors and harnesses. All cabinet components are interconnected using a high-speed SDLC connection between the controller, detectors, switch packs and cabinet monitor (CMU/AMU or MMU). The Hybrid cabinet technology provides improved intersection safety and easier installation and troubleshooting, while adding 4 extra channels of outputs than a standard 332/336 or ITS Type 1cabinet, for a total of 16 load switches. |
